The 9 Best Places to Eat and Be Entertained in Nashville

Bourbon Street

220 Printer’s Alley, Nashville, TN 37201     615-242-5837

Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar is in the heart of Printer’s Alley downtown. It is a New Orleans-themed bar, and the Blues music plays all day long. The wings, the gumbo, the alligator tails are all awesome.

Skull’s Rainbow Room

222 Printer’s Alley, Nashville, TN 37201     615-810-9631

Skull’s is also in Printer’s Alley, right next door to Bourbon Street. The food is extraordinary, and the cocktails are fabulous. And in the evening, you are entertained with Jazz music. This is a good place to go for your “nice” dinner.

John A’s

2421 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN 37214     615-885-1540

Music is available nightly from 5pm to 9pm. The food is great, and you get a lot for your money. You might be the youngest one in there, but it is fun.

The Row

110 Lyle Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203     615-321-1224

The Row is a good place to get hot chicken, bbq, or a burger, so if you have friends with varying tastes, this might be a good stop for you. And their brunch is available seven days a week 8am until 3pm. They have live music every day starting at 6pm, and on Saturdays starting at 2pm. I hear they have a pretty good Bloody Mary bar as well.

Commodore Grille

2613 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203     615-327-4707

Located inside the Vanderbilt Holiday Inn, this hotel bar is open 5pm to 11pm and offers Writers’ Nights seven nights a week, and the food is good. It’s the same sort of experience as going to the Blue Bird Café but without the lines. Mainly, the only people who know about it are people staying at the hotel and locals.

McNamara’s

2740 Old Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN 37214    615-885-7262

McNamara’s has live music Thursday through Saturday. I love the Steak and Guinness Pie and the Irish Stew.

Nashville Palace

2412 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN 37214    615-889-1541

If you are looking for a place to do line-dancing, this and the Wild Horse are probably your only options. They have a large dance floor and a second room that also has live music. Enjoy a burger and some tater tots.

3rd & Lindsley

818 3rd Avenue S., Nashville, TN 37210   615-259-9891

They have live music nearly every night. I highly recommend the Time Jumpers on Mondays. They are open for lunch from 11am to 2pm, and dinner from 6pm. They also have a happy hour Monday through Friday from 11am to 6pm ($3 domestics and $4 craft/imports).

Bowie’s

174 3rd Avenue N., Nashville, TN 37201    615-953-7155

Bowie’s is a dedicated rock bar located downtown, and is open Tuesday through Sunday. Enjoy Taco Tuesdays or Thirsty Thursdays. And did I mention that they have waffle fries? And if you are a vegetarian, they have the Impossible burger.
